Customs Department Notification Subject: Criteria and Procedures for Duty Exemption and Preferential Tariff Reduction for Goods Originating from Japan

This Notification shall take effect from 2 June 2025.

The Notification outlines the following key provisions:

- Format of Certificate of Origin (CO):
Acceptable formats include paper-based certificates and electronic files in PDF format (CO in PDF).

 - Customs Procedures:
Procedures applicable when submitting a Certificate of Origin in PDF format during the customs clearance process.

- Amendments Introduced in the New Notification:
This includes updates concerning the issuance of retroactive Certificates of Origin.
