Customs Procedures for Using the Electronic Certificate of Origin (e-CO)
- Importers must verify the status of the electronic Certificate of Origin (e-CO) through the data connection tracking system NSW e-Tracking via the application or web browser.
- If the status shows RES, it means the e-CO data has been successfully transmitted to the Customs system.
- Prepare the import declaration by specifying the e-CO number and date, and indicate the preferential tariff code J1E, J2E, or J3E.
- Importers are not required to upload a PDF version of the CO or present a paper CO.
The Customs Department will grant preferential tariff treatment based on the verified e-CO.
If the e-CO status does not appear (due to technical issues or system errors), importers shall proceed with the customs procedure using the CO in PDF format.
